My name is Gwynne Hewitt, together with my wife Judy we
own and operate a small import/wholesale business. We
have a very busy life with our business and three young
children. The training

I started training with Active
Lifestyle in August 2002 after trying several methods
of losing weight in time for my wedding. I have always
tried to do some form of exercise, but l constantly
lost interest or became too busy to attend a gym.
I researched personal training
companies and found Active Lifestyle. I discovered that
they took a holistic approach to fitness, not just weight
loss. Knowing the trainers are tertiary qualified and
highly experienced, l was comfortable with my choice
from the moment Dwain consulted with me at my place
of work to discuss my goals and expectations from exercising.

I am 49 years old, have never done much exercise in
my life, but I had been power walking for about 40 minutes
each day, in 2001.
In January 2002, I commenced a
new and demanding full-time position in the City of
Melbourne. This involved longer hours than I had been
working and also involved 2 hours travel time per day.
The result of this extra time was that I stopped doing
any exercise at all.
As the year passed, I became more and more frustrated,
as I had put on weight and just didn’t “feel”
good, within myself. I couldn’t even motivate
myself to exercise.
Finally, in October 2002, I decided
to hire a personal trainer. I rang 6 personal training
companies, none of which inspired me, and then I rang
Active Life Style. I was immediately impressed.

Three years ago I felt as
if I was facing Mount Everest and did not even have
the strength to tie up my boots! I was morbidly obese
and could not walk to the end of my driveway without
getting “puffed.” I was too ashamed to show
up at a gym. I had spent a lifetime dieting and several
times had had great success, losing considerable weight
and exercising on my own. Each time I eventually fell
back to my old patterns and would gain back the lost
weight and then more. I knew that any real success was
going to be a long term/life time project. Most of all,
I knew I needed help “getting going”.

My name is Tim Phillips.
On the 4th of April 2000, I weighed in at 111 kilograms.
I was not happy with my appearance, nor was I happy
with my overall confidence and lifestyle. As a busy
self-employed financial planner, finding time and motivation
to exercise was a problem. Similarly, my diet was very
ordinary. Eating on the run meant that McDonalds and
Red Rooster were my friends. Something had to change.
