I started training with Active Lifestyle in August 2002 after trying several methods of losing weight in time for my wedding. I have always tried to do some form of exercise, but l constantly lost interest or became too busy to attend a gym.

I researched personal training companies and found Active Lifestyle. I discovered that they took a holistic approach to fitness, not just weight loss. Knowing the trainers are tertiary qualified and highly experienced, l was comfortable with my choice from the moment Dwain consulted with me at my place of work to discuss my goals and expectations from exercising. By analyzing my fitness level, diet and lifestyle we have worked together to reduce my weight and percentage of fat. I no longer feel sluggish during the day and l am conscience, without being obsessive, of what kinds of fuel l put into my body.

My husband and l both train together and we have found that our level of fitness has improved greatly and we are able to cope better with the stress of daily living. As our fitness levels are different, our programs are cleverly designed to allow us to train together, motivating and challenging each other to work harder and yet maximize achievement of our individual goals. The best thing is that we are seeing results all the time and we are becoming fitter, stronger and happier with our bodies and our health. I can even beat my husband in a game of squash as l no longer feel exhausted after 15 minutes!

We have built a great rapport with our trainer Jacki. It would feel odd not to see her at least once a week. She has become part of our life, as has exercise. She monitors our progress and if we feel we need help or she notices we aren't training hard enough on our own she redesigns our program and helps us get back on track and make it interesting again. It's normal to slip into laziness, but at least someone experienced is there to prevent us from giving up on our goals.

Active lifestyle was the best choice for us, especially with the wedding and our busy lifestyle. They are so accommodating and varied in their approach to fitness that you actually have fun while you train and you feel committed to helping yourself by training outside the sessions also. I would recommend Active Lifestyle to anyone who was thinking about improving their lifestyle, losing weight and dealing with the constant stress of a hectic life. It's the best investment you will ever make in yourself!
